Horror Film Festival Day 1

Blog entry-Day 1 of Horrorfest

I just wanted to take a moment to sum up day one of the After Dark Film Festival, www.horrorfestonline.com.

Easily the worst film of the day was Unrest, poorly written and acted, but with good picture quality. The scenes were too slow, and the story was unfulfilling.

Coming in the middle of the pack was Dark Ride, a slasher movie very similar to the ‘80s style, but with some funny scenes, clichés that worked at times, and a lot of scares.

But the jewel of the day (maybe the whole festival) was easily Reincarnation (Rinne), a Japanese hit that kept me on the edge of my seat and even had me, Sluke, looking nervously around the room for hotel guest murderers and haunted dolls.

So, for those of you playing at home, my list goes like this so far:

1) Reincarnation (Rinne)

2) Dark Ride

3) Unrest

Here is to hoping tomorrow goes a little better than today. Just a quick heads-up, tomorrow I'll be seeing The Gravedancers at 2 pm, The Hamiltons at 4 pm, and Penny Dreadful at 6 pm.

I think the 2 pm will be disappointing, the 4 pm will scare me and the 6 pm might be a winner.

Oh, and for those of you who have asked, I'm at the Century Belmar in Denver, CO. Which reminds me, I'll be writing an article at the end of the festival about the interaction of the moviegoers.

Don't forget to support me by going over and reading my articles about each movie (or any of my old ones) so good old Suite 101 keeps letting me have all this fun.

Until later, keep the lights low.
