Final day of After Dark Film Fest

The third and final day of the After Dark Horror Film Festival, 8 Films to Die For, has come and gone, and I'm more than a little sad to see it end.

The movies today weren't the best, but they weren't the worst.

Today viewers caught Wicked Little Things and The Hamiltons.

Wicked Little Things was scary at times, but not consistent. It was a good story idea, but bogged down by strange camera angles and far too many monsters.

The Hamiltons was terrific, a tense and suspenseful movie that keeps you guessing and horrified throughout.

The rankings today were easy:

1) The Hamiltons

2) Wicked Little Things

And now, without further delay, my final rankings of all eight films from the After Dark Film Festival:

1) The Abandoned - from Russia with love, and terror. A great film all the way around.

2) Reincarnation (Rinne) - Japan sends us another creepy, spine-tingling horror film. If you like scary, you’ll love this one.

3) The Hamiltons - Scary, bothersome, and well written. This one keeps you guessing, and when you know the answers, you feel worse.

4) The Gravedancers - Fun and scary. Good acting, creepy monsters.

5) Wicked Little Things – Ghost kids eat people. No good can come of that.

6) Dark Ride - Slasher horror and big name actors. Good? Not quite.

7) Penny Dreadful - A full dollar’s worth of dreadful. Skip this one.

8) Unrest - Others love this romp in a hospital filled with vengeful nothing. Me, I hated it.

Make sure and check out my full reviews of each movie under my articles section. I'll be writing a total wrap up of the whole event there too - what went exactly right and what went terribly wrong. Check it out, and keep reading reviews from your faithful Sluke here at Suite 101.

Until later, keep the lights low.
