Ladislaus the Posthumous lived to be only 17 years of age. Born in 1440, he died in 1457 of what scholars now say was leukemia. However, he had already been crowned King of Bohemia and beheaded one of his citizens (which caused him to have to escape from Hungary to Prague due to the civil unrest his decision stirred up). Political intrique surrounded Ladislaus's short life, and the boy king was never free from the yoke of those who had their personal interests in mind.
