I have been a fan of Kandinsky for a long time. I encountered him in an art history class, then later studied him in depth-- reading his articles as much for fun as for research--and (finally) saw his works at an exhibition in Switzerland. He was my first encounter with a modern artist that I respected, understood, and whose works I found beautiful rather than mystifying.
Kandinsky's art was as much expression as it was science . . . and through visual experiementation in color, line, and shapes, he sought to create a methodology that all artists could follow to perfectly execute their artistic intentions.
A More In-Depth Exploration of Kandinsky:
For a great online gallery dedicated to Kandinsky, visit Olga's Gallery. This gallery really exhibits Kandinsky's development . . . so if you don't quite "get" what I'm trying to say in my articles because of the lack of visual material, all will quickly become clear. Enjoy!
