Your Content Suggestions

That's right, I need your help! All of folk music and its loyal followers need your help!

All that is required is a simple click of the mouse. One click per day for the next week or so. Let me explain...

Now that I am settled into my new gig as folk music writer for Suite101.com, I would like to know what you would most like to see on these pages. And, because I am still building my readership base, your opinion will carry a substantial amount of weight.

To voice your opinion, go to the Folk Music Section's homepage and answer the latest poll.

The options are as follows:

  1. Album reviews-Critics have to have something to criticize. These articles will feature my assessments and ratings of recently released folk albums. See my recent reviews of the latest albums from Bruce Springsteen and Jolie Holland as examples.
  2. Artist profiles-These pieces will provide readers with background on some of the musicians featured in the Folk Music Section. Most frequently, these articles will feature lesser-known artists or historically significant figures that every folk fan should know.
  3. In-depth features-Articles that fall under this heading will be longer, more analytical, and feature an increased amount of detail and "color," as they say in journalism. These will be anything and everything from portraits of famous music venues to glimpses into the crazy backstage antics of a major folk festival. See my recent analysis, Springsteen's Protest" as an example.
  4. Interviews with musicians-The interviews that will appear in the Folk Music Section will most frequently be in a Q+A format, allowing musicians to comment directly on their own work and on whatever else might tickle their fancy.
  5. Opinion pieces-These articles will feature short, punchy commentary on current events and issues from folk music and the greater musical world.

I hope that helps. Thanks for voting and remember that you can cast a new vote every 24 hours!
