This is Dave Shestokas, and this is my first post as feature writer for Law, Crime and Justice at Suite 101. I have been writing for Suite 101 since August, 2008. I am an attorney by trade, and although my practice is primarily criminal defense, I have written on a variety of topics for Suite 101.
The article writing is different than the blog, since the articles have a specific format to convey information to the reader. Blogging will be a change, since it is much more free form. It also allow for comments and discussion in a way that article writing does not.
What I would like to do originally with this format is ask readers to let me know what kinds of information is of interest to them in the category. They can be general questions of law, as I have written about driver's licenses, real estate titles, condominiums, and consumer protections such as lemon laws.
Crime and Justice are part of this topic area as well, so you will find things regarding criminal sentencing, constitutional rights for criminal defendants and Miranda warnings.
If a reader wants information about a particular legal issue, I will try my best to address it. If the answer seems to warrant an in depth answer it may become an article. If there is a short legal answer on a topic, it will be answered in the blog.
I look forward to hearing from the readers.
