Vitamin E To Prevent Soreness

Many people, after giving a good hard workout, notice that they experience a considerable amount of muscle soreness. This should not be used as an indicator of whether or not your workout was sufficient however, as you can get a great workout without experiencing any muscle soreness. The soreness you experience is caused mostly by the build-up of by products in the muscle and is most noticed when you perform exercises that really focus on the eccentric portion of the lift (the lowering phase).

In order to help reduce the amount of soreness that is created, you can try supplementing your diet with vitamin E. The recommended dosage for this purpose is 1200 IU's (of naturally occurring vitamin E). Note that the daily maximum that is ever recommended is 1500 IU's natural or 1100 IU's in synthetic form.

By doing so you will prevent yourself from skipping your next scheduled workout because of feelings of pain.
