German born Eckhart Tolle's message is simple, yet profound. Lets focus on the now, instead of brood on the past or ponder on the future. As easy as it is to understand, to live the message is probably the most difficult and liberating thing you'd ever do. We've been conditioned by our society to live in a mind projected future. Does it make sense to live unhappily today, just so we can live happily ever after at a future time? Does the future time even exist? Personally, my thinking was revolutionalized by Tolle's words like, "There was never a time when your life was not in the Now, nor will there ever be."
I remind myself of Tolle's message, when the complicated web I've weaved around me seems a little too much to handle. I have to admit, it is soothing and re-assuring. If the best things in life are simple and free, the "focus on the present moment" has to be near the top of the list of life's best. I cannot 'think' of anything more basic than living in the present moment.
