Apple released a new ad campaign this week featuring a man who represents a PC, and another who represents a Mac. The series of ads about everything from restarting and virus to the positive reviews that Mac has been getting in computer magazines across the country. The Mac is played by a young hip looking guy, the PC by an overweight man wearing thick glasses.
My favorite of the ads is one about restarting.
The Mac and the PC are standing beside each other on the screen and introduce themselves. In the middle of a sentence the PC stops and has to restart. He then starts over again with his first line again " I'm a PC".
The ad reinforces the point that while both Macs and PC are both running Windows now, PC's still have problems that Macs do not such as Restarting, and Viruses.
The Virus ad features the Mac and the PC once again beside each other. The PC has a nasty virus that has taken the form of a cold, and suggests that the Mac stay away. The Mac says they'll be fine. There were over 13,000 known viruses for PC's last year, none of those effect Mac. The end of the commercial has the PC "crashing", because of its virus.
I think this is a cute ad campaign
The ads teach you a little about what makes Macs special, in a way that only Mac could.
