It dawned on me while listening to a country countdown show this morning, Faith Hill mis-timed her latest single. "Sunshine and Summertime" is a fun song, probably good enough to be a number one, if it was released a few weeks earlier. Although it is now in the top 10, and has been a constant on country airwaves this summer, the approaching Labor Day holiday will make sure that the song doesn't reach #1. Time has run out on Faith. In all likelihood, "Sunshine and Summertime" will not be increase in airplay after we hit the "unoffically close of summer" next week. I'm sure Faith isn't losing any sleep over it, but she has struggled to reach #1 over the past couple of years, and maybe a little forward thinking back in April could have helped her here.
