Biggest Loser Recap Week 3

It's week 3 of the Biggest Loser and the contestants have all shown big numbers the first 2 weeks. They can't continue to lose at a pace of 10-20 pounds a week, so it was bound to taper off soon, but their emotions got the best of them this week.

Until now, the red team has been labeled disfunctional and they have been rebllious towards their trainer, Kim. They didn't respect her and they would outright refuse to do what she asked them to do. After losing Nelson last week, the team continued to crumble and they were all very emotional, including Kim. The team actually needed the breakdown in order to better understand each other and form some sort of bond. In the end, Kim broke down crying and confessed to the team that she too had body images and felt the pressure of the show just like they do. This was a welcome message to the contestants and they were able to embrace her and grow stonger as a team.

Because of this, the red team did win the challenge of the escalator climb. Pam won $10,000 by staying on the longest and also won the ability to choose the person from the blue team who would not be included in their team's weigh-in. They didn't make the best choice, but they still came out on top with a larger percentage of weight loss for the week, making them the Biggest Losers.

The blue team felt some defeat, having not won a single challenge. They felt like they let Bob (their trainer) down. At nominations, it iwas unanimous that Melinda the ranch because she had the least amount to lose and they felt confident that she can continue doing well at home, but they all hated to send her packing and gave her a nice goodbye.

Since being home, Melinda lost another 26 pounds and looks dramatically different than when she started the season, so maybe they were right to send her home at this point.
