Biggest Loser Recap Week 1

50 people, each representing a different state, are fighting for the opportunity to earn the title of "The Biggest Loser." Sadly, the trainers could only choose 14 people to make up the 2 teams that stayed on the ranch and the rest were sent home to lose the weight with a little extra support and the chance to come back for the final show and earn the title and cash prize.

The trainers pushed these people to their limits. They were ridding their bosy of toxins, as the one trainer put it. They worked hard and it showed. At the end of week one, contestants lost anywhere form 8 to 23 pounds. Yes, that is in just one week!

It wasn't easy getting there though. Many tears were shed the first week, they miss their families, they are pushed to exhaustion in their workouts and let's not forget the unforgiving first weigh-ins.

One of the things that would prevent me from going on the show is the weigh-in "uniform." I don't think I could stand in front of the world in a pair of tight spandex shorts and a sprots bra. But that's just me. These contestants are determined to make a healthier life for themselves, and I suppose when you compare what they will gain from the experience, the humilation might actually be worth it in the end. I always say I would give anything to lose weight, but I'm still on the fence with this one.

The red team won the challenge, but the blue team won the weigh-in and that left the red team to send someone packing. The woman they unanimously chose to send home had only lost 8 pounds and seemed to be causing trouble for the team. Her update showed that she had lost another 58 pounds since she left the ranch though and she looked great.
