Well folks, here's a few brief updates!

I recently was offered a position as the St. John's Video Game Examiner. I'll be giving this new site a swing and seeing how it pans out. Don't fret, I still consider Suite101 to be my online mainstay!

My graduate program is continuing along swimmingly here at Memorial University of Newfoundland. I'm currently taking a Master of Philosophy in Humanities degree, and all of the wondrous opportunities that coincide with this program.

Last evening I was able to attend a poetry reading featuring local scholars / poets Don Gillis and Mark Brown as well as international poet Lalli Maassen at the Eastern Edge Art Gallery. Very cool! I have a lot of work piling up lately so I have to give it a bit of time before I can venture out and do interviews (I'd like to speak with Jack Harris, and I'd like to speak with the folks at Eastern Edge).

GLN (our impromptu rock/jam band) can't record this evening (boo! I know!), but we're working on a full CD/set of covers and originals, both wacky and awesome.

That's it for now!

I managed to meet the one and only Captain Morgan, dressed in full pirate regalia, on the deck adjoining Distortion and the Bull and Barrell last night.

Dispensing free rum to all of his lifelong friends and crewmembers, Captain Morgan was laughing heartily at the scalliwags he managed to lasso with this generous offer.

The rest of the night, however, remains a blur.

Roundelay and the Class War Kids put on a great show at Distortion - the only thing missing was Weapon. An interesting night downtown and surely an inspiration to delve deeper into the local music scene here in St. John's, Newfoundland.

Hello again ladies and gents,

Things have been very busy over the last few months! I've written a load more articles, particularly a few featuring some new summer fashion tips and ways to keep cool over the coming months as well as quite a few articles on social justice and activism. Make sure to take a poke through my latest as found in my profile and if anything catches your eye, feel free to have a read.

I will be returning to St. John's, Newfoundland as of September to begin my graduate studies at Memorial University, and couldn't be happier. While I certainly will miss the Annapolis Valley here in Nova Scotia, I also miss the Rock and would love the chance to live there for a while once again. The Humanities programme looks very interesting to me and will give me a great opportunity for some social research as well as a chance to develop a greater understanding of the human condition. Social Justice is one of my primary interests in the academic realm and so I look forward to this great opportunity.

I've also set up a Facebook Group, if any of you are interested in joining and checking out all my latest articles and thoughts. I also appreciate any feedback, questions, or even suggestions on what to research and write about here at Suite.

You'll find my Facebook group, "Nicholas Morine - Freelance Writer, Journalist", here.

Once again, thanks for reading and keeping in touch. I appreciate all of your correspondence and comments.

Hey folks :

It's been a fair spell since my last post - I guess blogging can be fairly difficult in comparison to some other hobbies in that I find it more difficult to write in a personal tone than an advisory one!

Everything has been progressing well for my research and work here at Suite. Tonnes of new opportunities keep opening themselves up and new ideas are constantly rolling around in my head here. Whether it be Men's Fashion, Photography, Video Games, Film Reviews, Bass Guitar, or Creative Writing - a tonne of subject areas lie at my disposal so I hope to get the best out of them.

Spring is almost here! This is wonderful news for me as I simply can't stand winter. I don't mind the cold but the inability to do much out of doors (I'm definitely not a winter sports fan) really limits what you can do in your free time.

There should be a great deal more material to come so stay tuned. If you'd like to see any particular theme of article or have any questions I could incorporate into my work feel free to leave a message!

It's been a while so I haven't been updating regularly - too busy working flat out and trying to write the odd article in between!

Christmas went very well and Santa was good to both myself and my partner - we managed to pick up a great number of games, clothing, and of course - chocolate treats!

Some of the highlights in the gaming realm are as follows.

The World Ends With You, Nintendo DS

Cooking Mama 2, Nintendo DS

Lost Magic, Nintendo DS

Personal Trainer, Cooking, Nintendo DS

Tenchu Z, Xbox 360

Condemned, Criminal Origins, Xbox 360

2800 Microsoft Points, Xbox 360

As well as plenty of nice ties, shirts, and pants that are sure to make my year! There are no specific resolutions, but be sure to check on back and see what articles are churning up. Plenty more material in creative endeavours and I believe this year will be very interesting with regards to political activism as well!

Stay tuned!
