We all know the rules about not using a metal umbrella or being the tallest object during a thunderstorm. Now, advocacy groups are adding a new warning - don't use our cell phone. Cell phones, like other objects containing metal can affect the way that electricity is transferred across or through the body during a lightning strike. Although so far the number of fatalities associated with cell phone lightning strikes is somewhat limited, the evidence does suggest that using your cell phone in a thunderstorm significantly increases the level of danger.
