I recently branched out from my marine aquarium and reef conservation writing here at Suite 101 to write about some local artists whose art indicates they also have a deep appreciation for the ocean and the animals that inhabit it.
I am fortunate to live next door to the nationally recognized Sawdust Arts Festival, which is within walking distance of the beach here in Laguna Beach, California. As a result, my wife, Karen, and I spend a great deal of time at both Sawdust and the ocean. Writing about some of the artists of ocean-inspired art at Sawdust was therefore a natural extension of my love for the ocean, marine aquaria, art, and, of course, the Sawdust Arts Festival.
Pease do read the first article in the series titled "Ocean-Inspired Art for Laguna Beach Visitors; Artists at Sawdust Festival Share Love of Ocean with Visitors," which briefly profiles some of the artists I will be sharing with readers here at Suite 101 in the coming weeks...actually, I'm late for my interview with Nita Skaggs right now!
Stay tuned for information and a picture about my favorite Nita Skaggs oil painting--"Winter in Laguna"...
