For months now, I've been planning to fly to San Jose on President's Day weekend for a convention that I used to go to annually when I lived in the Bay Area. A good friend contacted me and said she'd do coordinations on that end if I came down. So that's been the plan, and we've got our crew to split the hotel room and have the room booked too.
And suddenly I get a call that my favorite uncle, the eternal bachelor, is finally marrying his long-term girlfriend. They live in Boston. They've picked President's Day weekend, as their birthdays are the 15th and 19th of that month.
Eeek!
Long story short: inside family advice advises that they think the wedding will get pushed out to later in the year and that I should go ahead with the con.
