This weekend the family is taking a well-earned break. A three-hour drive will take us across New Zealand's North Island to Napier, the Art Deco capital of the world. Razed by a 1931 earthquake (measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale) Napier was re-built in the Art Deco style of its times.
Napier lies on the East Coast of New Zealand and is the urban centre of the province of Hawkes Bay, a region renowned for dramatic terrain, farming, vineyards and orchards.
