Spellings Encourages Girls

The concern seems to be that only one-third of girls are enrolled in physics classes in high school and only one-fifth of engineering students are girls.

The facts are that girls are statistically better in reading and boys are better in math. So, of course, there would be more boys in classes that focus on math.

In fourth grade, 68% of boys say they like science and only 66% of girls? 2%? This is what all the excitement is about?

We should be more concerned about the rising drop out rate for boys. The drop out rates of boys are rising consistently. Why are boys the minority on most college campuses? I think the real question should be, "What are we doing as a society and in schools to put boys at-risk?

While it is great for everyone to use their full potential, it is proven that girls are already doing better in school than boys. Presently, boys lag behind girls.
