Oprah's School Has Problems

Very little information is coming from Oprah on Winfrey's Academy for Girls. However, according to Fox News today, two allegations have been made by two girls against two employees at the school.

One claims to have been assaulted--choked and thrown against a wall. Another claims to have been molested.

Oprah has flown out to investigate herself and brought with her a trusted law enforement representative. She plans on doing her own investigation whether the claims are true or not. This has to be heartbreaking for Winfrey who funds the lavish, resort-like campus for the girls.

The school has had some controversy because of the money spent and strictness. The girls are very limited on communication with home and diet. Parents are not being allowed to bring food from home on the few visiting hours allowed per month. Many were shocked that all the girls were tested for AIDS but AIDS is an epidemic in Africa. Winfrey wanted to ensure a healthy environment for the girls. Now, this scandal has tainted the historic school.

Hopefully, more news will be available soon.
