Teachers know that each student must be handled differently. One is confident, another holds back from any attention and is sensitive, a third may be attention-seeking, and a fourth is a leader. Could knowing birth order possibly help the teacher know students better and how to talk to them? The answer is "yes!"
Cliff Isaacson, a professional counselor and United Methodist minister, is founder of the Upper Des Moines Counseling Center. At the Center, he has helped resolve thousands of client cases by going beyond Alfred Adler's theories on birth order. A diplomate Member of the American Psychotherapy Association and member of Mensa, Reverend Isaacson lives in northwest Iowa.
He has authored several books on the topic: The Birth Order Effect: How to Better Understand Yourself and Others, The Birth Order Effect for Couples, How To Love Your Children: Birth Order For Parents, The Birth Order Challenge: Expanding Your Horizons, Look at it This Way: Reframing Life's Experiences, 112 Ways to Say What You Want, and Understanding Yourself Through Birth Order. He incorporates birth order into his therapy and also does public speaking on this topic.
Cliff will be writing a series on the five birth order personalities on this site. Learn about Birth Order and how it has evolved. "Thank you" to Cliff for sharing his expertise with us.
