Lulu Art Journal Compilations

A couple of years ago, I compiled art journal pages and put them into a book to sell on lulu.com. My original plan was to compile pages every month and create a series of books for sale. This started out with a bang, but soon went bust because I ran out of time to create the pages to compile.

Ideally, I should have had a stock pile of pages before starting the publication process. The reason why I did not have a lot of pages because the majority of my journal work has been completed in collaborative pieces, as well as in traveling art journals. So, much to my dismay, I had to shelve this idea until I had more pages finished.

The books were very popular at first, but the interest fell off when new books did not present themselves. Lesson learned! Another lesson I learned is the books need to be more substantial. Thirty days of pages really does not make for a nice bulky, and interesting, volume to put up for sale. As you can see, this idea needs some tweaking.

What are your thoughts on this? Have you ever tried doing this? Is this something you have always wanted to try, but have not for one reason or another? Inquiring (art) minds want to know!
