Dream Art Studio

Today, I blogged on a different site (Log Homes Journal) about operating a business out of a log cabin. This, of course, lead to another blog post on my blog (Jenn Hollowell: Working Writer) about how my dream is to work out of a log cabin one day.

It is my ultimate dream to have an art studio and writing space in a log cabin. There’s something creative and inspiring about being in a cabin in the woods somewhere. I vacation from time to time in a log cabin in northern Maine and, each time we go there, I can’t help wishing I had an easel, a box of supplies, or writing supplies.

I go there to vacation, though, so rarely do I bring any work-related items. Anyway . . .

I’m writing in here today about dream art studios because I would love to get your wheels turning. What is your dream art studio? How close are you to achieving this dream? Why do you have this dream? Are you currently working in your dream art studio?

Rather than write about the answers to these questions in your blog, in a discussion, or in your paper writing journal . . . create pages in your art journal or create pages in an altered book focusing on the answers to these questions. Hunt through home improvement magazines, flyers, brochures, and pamphlets to gather materials suitable for achieving these art pages. Have fun with this and let your imagination take over!
