Creativity With Kids

I have been very lucky when it comes to creativity with my children. Each of them has their own interests, but it always seems to lead to the same type of project in the end. I am not really sure how it ends up that way, but I am glad it does.

They have been very interested in the mixed media work I have done over the years. The first reason is because they can make a mess. That is one of the best part of being a mixed media artist is that it requires mess making skills, which all three of my children have in spades.
The next reason they are interested in mixed media art is that it does not have to make sense to anyone else but them and, in some cases, not even them. This borders on abstract art, but it captures the use of more than one medium. They like the idea of gluing something her, scribbling something there, dripping paint over it all, and mixing things with their fingers . . . and somehow, in some way, it make sense in the end.
I admit, I have not been exploring new creative projects with them lately because work and school has taken the forefront. However, I do plan to change this. We have family game night already incorporated into our routines, so why not incorporate family “creative” night?
What types of creative projects do you work on with your children? Are there any tutorials you would like to see in the Mixed Media Arts topic to help guide you and give you ideas for creative projects to complete with your children?
