Calls for Artists Juried Shows

The first show I was ever a part of was a juried show. It was right after I graduated from high school and, even though I did not win anything the experience has stayed with me through the years. The main reason for this is because I was able to speak to an audience individually, I spoke with the jurors, and I was “in public” with my art for the first time. It was an addicting experience.

Here are some opportunities for you to explore:

• National Watercolor Society: 88th annual exhibit, deadline May 24, 2008.
• Paperworks International Juried Competition: Deadline May 31, 2008.
• Art Institute & Gallery: 17th Annual National Juried Exhibition. Various Deadlines between June and August, 2008.

Good luck with these opportunities! I tried finding opportunities with a deadline that was not too close.
