Blank Black Journals

During 2003 or so, I found blank journals in two different sizes at the bookstore and they each contained un-ruled black pages. Following that, I found a spiral bound ruled notebook with black pages. Each of these different books had the same heavy weight and durable paper, which could withstand heavy manipulation. At first, the only things I could come up to do with them were:

  1. Use milk pens or glitter gel pens to write, draw, or doodle in them
  2. Use them for collages and traveling art journal round robins

I know, not very interesting. For some reason, these books have been on my mind quite a bit lately. I know exactly where they are; I know they’re empty. I know I want to play in them! I want to break out the bleach, I want to go back to use the old stand-by’s I listed above, and I want to find fluorescent poster paint to play in there with. I don’t know what it is, but lately all I can think of are different black paper book projects to work on. I guess I need to get going and get my art on!
