I was thinking this morning, while blogging over at my writing-career themed blog, about how artists support artists (or, do they?). This was prompted by the fact that I was supporting another writer (who is currently battling cancer) through blog posts:
After posting these blogs, the question occurred to me: When was the last time I supported an artist like this? So, I decided to bring this question to a bigger table. When was the last time you, as an artist, supported another artist? I find myself seeing the need and calls out to support other writers all the time. Rarely, though, do I see artists reaching out in such a way.Why is this? I would like to actively support artists as much as I support writers, be it through creating blog posts or writing articles. However, I feel artists are more secretive about their needs than writers are (despite that they're a different kind of artist). Do you feel this way, too?Let's discuss this! Use the discussion area to convey your thoughts, brainstorm some ideas about how we can support artists, and offer any other suggestions.
