Your Own Blog

Keeping up with the latest technology gadgets can be a pain, or it can be fun! Consider starting your own Blog as a first step - it's fun, creative, and a great way to share ideas AND to vent in a professional way. You'd be surprised at how many other instructors/professors/job hunters/general public share your dilemma or anxiety - which is what makes Blogs so popular.

Many email providers and/or internet providers now offer a FREE section for either websites and/or blogs - so you do not have to pay an extra cent! But you will have to invest your time - grammar and spelling counts, eh? (if I hear that question one more time this year for ANY test or assignment, I will scream!)

You do NOT need special software to start - even just with a website you can start posting your comments, feelings and thoughts for the day. Just remember, you ARE in a public zone - so do not write anything you would not say to someone's face or not want a certain person to read. Defamation of character is not cool nor wanted.

As we head towards summer and more holiday time (ever notice how many statutory holidays there are in summer?) - many workers actually think of this time as more reflective for their lives than the traditional end of the year. This many be due to our early days of summer vacation from school. For whatever reason - this summer might be a great time to reflect on your job, career, and life goals. So consider your first "blog" to be a summary of the high and low spots for you. You'll find this refreshing and cleansing - both useful for closure to the year and gearing up for next year!

So what's stopping you?
