It's the 2-4 Weekend here in Canada - named for the weekend it usually happens (around May 24th - Victoria Day for Queen Victoria ) as well as the beverage of choice (champagne for the working class, to those uninitiated - beer!) Me? I'll have a Suite Bellini (check out the whole course too!) and my regular soda water/seltzer with lime for the rest of the time. Hey, someone's gotta watch the BBQ!
In keeping with the light-hearted and hopefully enjoyable weekend - here are some great Resume Blunders - some I've read from the internet, and most from my students! See if you can guess what the student really meant to say - and have fun! Note - spelling and grammar mistakes as well as incorrrect word used are left as said/found - so always remember to read your work and not trust the computer!
"My experience shows my liability for your company." (And yes, this was from a Business Student who wanted to go into accounting)
"I have excelent communnication skills" (Oh really? Yep, another Business Student)
"I speak Enghlish and Spinach fluently." (No comment - I'm laughing too hard at this one! I've seen versions of this one on the internet, but to see it from one of my students left me in hysterics! You see, the student was an exchange student from a very different country, and really thought this was the right thing to say/do)
"I can take my way out of anything!" (This is the first version - I asked the student to re-read and redo this sentence - see below for his "correction")
"I can talk my way out of anything!" ("Corrected" version. All I could see was the student talking his way out of the job!)
