Taylor Hicks, the gray-haired honey who made ladies swoon with his soulful renditions of tunes on "American Idol", was a relative unknown before the series crowned him the winner of their fifth installment. Since then, he's been all over the place - lighting the tree at Rockefeller Center, making the talk show circuit, presenting an award at this year's American Music Awards and doing those blasted Ford commercials.
One would think that Taylor would be showing some good ole Southern gratitude to the show that made this all possible, but no. He's not. Not really.
Taylor told Relix magazine recently that he doesn't watch "American Idol" and for him, the series is "fizzling out". He admits that he used the series to gain "opportunity and exposure" and he's "not trying to meet expectations".
