Our house was struck by lightning twice on 8/19/2007. We lost a heat pump, two computers, cable and Internet service, a television, and electrical supply to some of the outlets in our home. Needless to say, it has been a little rough around here this past week. We finally got our cable and Internet service back, which is such a relief. But, the struggle is not over yet.
My kids, of course, missed watching TV and being able to play on their computer for a few days. Not only can these games be fun, but they also teach skills. Colonial kids usually only had their siblings to play with, as other families could be miles and miles away. They learned to share, take turns, and show respect for each other. Hmm...this sure doesn't happen in my house on a daily basis!
We can learn a lot from the Colonial children!
