I admit it.
I dread the start of the holiday season so much that for the past decade I have purposely had myself on a plane and heading to Europe on Thanksgiving Day. My usual TDay fare has been Chinese at Newark or a hotdog in Keflavik Iceland.
Yes, I have forgone the turkey, dressing, and pumpkin pie. Lots of pumpkin pie, savory dressing and mounds of creamy mashed poatoes (the latter two being slathered with tons of gravy)
This year though I will be in the States, and the thought of eating non stop with the occasional pause for a parade or football broadcast is making me nervous. I lost a lot of weight this past year, and the ever-expanding waistline season is about to officially begin.
So in the hopes of combating the seasonal trend, and not looking like a Mrs. Claus double by December 25th, I have compiled a list of regional events that might keep us all a bit healthier. Most events are raising money for charity so the benefits double.
C’mon put down buttery biscuit (it was your 4th one anyway), find your running or walking shoes and join me.
