It's been a real peachy month for me! July and August always seem to bring out the fruit desserts and fuzzy peaches are no exception! Last month I was on a blueberry kick and then a pie kick. But this month, you'll just have to put up with my peach desserts!
Make sure to read through Baking With Fresh, Frozen & Canned Peaches before you start out on these recipes. There's lots of useful information there to help you decide which to use - fresh, frozen or canned peaches.
Peach Pie Made with Fresh Peaches: Like most of my recipes, this one was inspired by my Grandmother, Doris. You can make it with either fresh or frozen peaches too. Just be sure to read the directions first. I like it with a touch of cinnamon in it and a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
Fresh Peach Pie with Streusel Topping - Flaky pie crust loaded with fresh ripe peaches & spices, topped with sweet brown sugar praline streusel. Classic peach dessert can be made with frozen or canned peaches.
Peach Crisp Made with Fresh Peaches: Apple crisp was always a favorite in my home, but I usually reserved apple desserts for the fall. Peach Crisp, well, that's another story! It's made almost the same way with the exception of a few different spices. It's good nice and warm with, you guessed it, another scoop of vanilla ice cream!
Peach & Blueberry Streusel Muffins made with Fresh Peaches - Peach Muffins with brown sugar & pecan streusel topping. Baked with fresh peaches or frozen peaches and spices, muffins are quick, easy peach desserts & breakfast snacks.
Peach Cobbler Made with Fresh Peaches: Grandma also made all sorts of cobblers. Her strawberry rhubarb cobbler was favored by most of the family, not me, sorry! I remember her making Peach Cobbler a few times, and what I remember of it, was that it was good! Again, there is nothing better on Peach Cobbler than ice cream!
Blackberry Cobbler Recipe with Fresh Peaches - Seasonal berries such as blackberries, raspberries and blueberries are delicious in an old-fashioned fruit cobbler. Adding firm, fleshy fruit like peaches, will give the tasty cobbler beautiful color and texture.
Peach & Cream Scones - Loaded with fresh peaches, these peach scones have a moist & tender crumb, and are scented with pure orange oil. Scones are quick & easy to make, freeze well, and can be adapted to most fruits in season.
Peach Shortcake Recipe - Fresh ripe peach shortcake and spices are snuggled between homemade buttermilk biscuits. Juicy peaches are piled high with sweetened whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon!
