There's no doubt about it. Fall is here, the leaves are turning colors and apple orchards are in full swing!
Everyone loves apple desserts and Apple Pie is at the top of my list!
Just like the one my Grandmother used to make - with one exception - there's no lard in mine! I make it with crisp, tart Granny Smith apples because they hold their shape the best. Granny's don't turn to mush when they get baked. This delicious apple pie is made with simple ingredients; apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon and a pat of butter. Serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and wait for the oohs and aahs!

Perfect Flaky Pie Crust
Stop fussing with the old pie crust methods. This flaky pie crust recipe is easy-as-pie! Don't have a rolling pin? Try rolling your pie crust with a chilled bottle of wine. When you're done with the crust, reward yourself by pouring a glass of wine!
Crisp recipes are easy because they're made without having to roll out pie crust. Just make a struesel or crumble topping and bake! Whipped cream and ice cream are a good finish on this apple crisp.
