Storing RVs During Cold Seasons

When it comes to winterizing and storing my camper, I have a fairly easy job. My family has a pop-up that we are able to keep in our home garage and I can take my time cleaning the interior and sorting through the supplies that I wish to keep inside and the ones that need to be removed. When it comes to preparing the larger trailers and motorhomes for storage, the task becomes a larger job, but does not need to be looked at as difficult or time consuming. When simple steps are taking through the year to stay organized and well-maintained, less work is needed to be done in the long run.

My first priority through the year is to keep up on maintenance and not putting it off until the end of the season. Small repairs can add up when postponed and can add a significant amount of time to the winterizing process. If tires need to be rotated or replaced, or if the upholstery needs to be cleaned, I try to take care of those issues as they occur.

Organizing is always in the back of my mind when I prepare for a camping trip or when we return. Having a zone for each basic need mapped out in the camper allows me to keep items closest to where they will be used. When I go to empty out supplies, I know it will be simple to find the items that need to be removed.

Keeping up on these 2 items through the year keeps my end of the season routine to a number of hours, not days, and allows for my family to enjoy our camper right up to the last warm weekend of the season.
