Welcome to the Vegetable Gardens Blog

As the new feature writer for Vegetable Gardens here at Suite101, I would like to welcome readers to our section.

The topic section may be titled, Vegetable Gardens, however, we also cover Orchards/Fruits, Herbs, Kitchen Gardens, Community Gardens, Container Gardens and Garden Pests and Diseases

In the coming months, I hope to cover various gardening methods, history of vegetable gardening, the reasons behind why people grow their own vegetables, gardening with children and many other topics.

I am an ardent supporter of growing heirloom plants in all of my gardens. I feel it is important to save the old seeds, I believe these will become very important in the future. I also believe that gardening should be simple and enjoyable, never overwhelming. In my opinion, gardening; being close to the earth brings a certain peace and connection to what is important in life. When gardening ceases to be something people do for fun and enjoyment it becomes work and gardening should never be considered work!

Grab a cup of coffee or tea, sit back and read a while. All of the writers here at Suite are happy to have your company.

Here are a few articles to get you started.
