The New Year

Christmas has come and gone. The presents have been delivered and large amounts of turkey and dressing/stuffing has been consumed. We won't even talk about the pounds we will have to shed due to the recent holiday dinners!

It is hard to believe that in a few days it will be 2009. Another year has passed giving us the chance to put away the old and start anew. Resolutions, some that will fall by the wayside and others joyfully kept, are making it from heads to hands to paper this last week of December. Gardeners are resolving to grow a healthier gardens this coming season.

Mailboxes in North America should be filling up with seed catalogs about now. What a wonderful chance to get cozy by the fire, relax and make our seed lists.

While making seed lists, think about what you'll be growing. Maybe you'd like a few perennial herbs or Asian greens. If you are new to gardening, you may be wondering what some of the terms used in gardening mean, a few explainations of garden terms can be found here.

I'd like to see some of your garden resolutions if you'd care to share them with us here at Suite101. Feel free to comment below :)

Happy New Year!
