A really good way to start a relaxation program is to do something every day that calms you. It can be as simple as looking at a picture or scenery that calms you down, or even listening to a relaxing CD. You might try to just consciously slow yourself down during the day. You can also simply just notice your breath or notice your feet on the ground. Have an affirmation posted on your fridge to remind you to relax and to slow down. You could also have a ritual every day around the things that calm you. Write them down so that you remember to consciously take the time to relax.
