Doll Making

There are so many more variation we could do, that I would end up turning this into a doll-making site instead of a craft site. I do want to give you a few more variations before we move on.

When we created our first doll using the photo transfer to fabric paper it really got my gears turning. I am focused on Christmas right now and was thinking about how we could use this not just for gift making but for decorating as well. On September 12, we will be doing a version of the doll making using the photo transfer to turn our children into reindeer.

Then I got to thinking about Santa. Originally I thought of making a foot high Santa to go with the reindeer. This will work with our basic doll pattern. But what if we wanted to make a like sized Santa for our front entryway or for a side chair in our house? Wouldn’t it be fun to add our husbands, fathers, or even our own face to the doll to create this decoration that is totally unique, fun and definitely a conversation piece.

You don’t even need any other direction for the basic doll. Simply use the same pattern as the basic doll but make it much larger. Make sure to over stuff the neck to insure it can hold the weight of the head. Get a red outfit or make one and trim it in white fur. Add a beard and hat. Make a sack and fill it with wrapped boxes and have Santa sitting in wait beside your tree.

There is no wrong way to do this so just have fun with it.
