Christmas Flowers

There is something about a thick, lush garland that gives us that Christmas spirit. Then you add Poinsettias and I'm there.

This is the beginning of the catalog season. There are catalogs in the mail, catalogs from the children's schools, catalogs from co-workers and even in our e-mail. Everywhere we turn there are holiday catalogs. We buy things from the catalogs because we care about the person selling the products but the truth is most of the products are overpriced and we didn’t need the item. Your co-workers buy from your child, you need to buy from theirs. Don't get me wrong I love catalogs. I love to keep them and use them for ideas.

The first thing I do when a holiday catalog comes my way is to look for the greenery and florals. It doesn't matter if it is a tree or a swag. They have wonderful ideas and photography in most catalogs.

Now take that idea and make it yourself.

For this next week we are going to be looking at making holiday flowers for ourselves.

Yup, you read that right. You don't have to be a master gardener or have loads of expensive supplies. Remember our goal is to set a mood this year. It is about the themes and the pieces it takes to create the theme.

You still need to buy something from your nieces and your bosses child but that’s ok, buy something that will accentuate your flowers.
