Advent Calendar for Canine

We made an Advent tree and an Advent gingerbread house for the family. This one is just for the pet lovers. For many people their pets are the best friend a person can have. Your friends don't have to have two legs to enjoy the holidays. Here is what you will need.

Materials Needed:

• 24 Small-sized treats
• Jumbo Christmas stocking
• About 7 yards of ribbon
• Scissors
• Hot glue and glue sticks
• Enough goodies to fill the stocking completely

Cut the ribbon into twenty four pieces measuring eight to ten inches in length each.

Lay out all of the treats onto the stocking to get an idea of how they will fit. Remove the treats one at a time and hot glue the center of a ribbon piece onto the stocking in that spot. Repeat for each treat. When you are done tie the treats onto the stocking with the ribbons.

Fine a central location to hang the stocking out of reach. Just like children they will sneak a treat if it is reachable.

Each day give that special pet a treat at the same time of day. When the last treat is gone it is Christmas Eve. Fill the stocking to the top with all of your pets favorite toys and treats.
