Cross Stitch For Christmas

I noticed today whilst looking at some online Cross Stitch chart stores that the most popular purchases at the moment are Christmas related designs. Particularly those used for card making, many small Christmas designs are listed at the top of the sales charts. Cute little Santas, reindeer and snowmen all feature highly on the work in progress lists at the moment.

Although it might seem strange working on your Christmas projects in the height of summer, it is really quite a good use of time. What a good idea not only to plan months in advance, but also to use the long summer days, and perhaps time sat on the beach or having picnics to work on some cross stitch. These are small projects and very portable, making them great to pop into a pocket of a bag, or purse and whip out as the mood takes you!

Of course at the other end of the Christmas preparation scale you have those of us, who every year believe that the Big Day is still months ahead, and end up leaving things to the last moment.

Good places to start looking for Christmas related cross stitch designs is of course the large online stores. However don’t forget your local craft stores, if they are not already displaying Christmas cross stitch designs, they are likely to have some in stock so have a word and see what they can offer.
