I was at a craft market recently and there was a stall selling nothing but handmade buttons. They had bright funky buttons made from polymer clay, natural colored buttons made from fine clay and wonderful hand painted and glass buttons. Each button was a miniature work of art and was such an inspiration to create something new and fantastic to show off the button in its full glory.
There are many interesting types of button available. There is a growing move towards all things eco, and buttons are no exception. Wonderful hand carved buttons are increasingly available made from wood or nuts. I've recently written about the tagua nut, which is fascinating. It is also known as vegetable ivory because of its qualities.
Finding the right button for a project can be quite a task, however with so many available the right one is bound to be out there somewhere!
