One of my favorite things to do is go to museums, exhibits, and galleries. My family and I went to see Body World 3 yesterday, and it was amazing. I will never look at the human body the same again!
It is hard to wrap your mind around the fact that everything you see is a real human parts. I must admit that it was a little nauseating at times. I learned allot about my body. It is hard to deny how bad smoking is when you see the black lungs, or how bad over consumption on alcohol is when you see sclerosis of the liver. Also you get to see what a poor diet does to the intestines. The baby exhibit was tragic but, very informative. The parents that helped with that should get a metal! I will never forget it!
Toward the end of the exhibit, was a cross section (slice) of an obese man. Wow! After seeing that you will know why eating less and exercise is so important. Belly fat compresses the organs, causing less blood to reach them. They are essentially suffocating! The heel of the foot was damaged from holding all that weight as well.
If you get the chance, I highly recommend seeing Body Worlds for yourself.
