I mention two of the featured artists shown in the 2007 Metalsmith Exhibition in Print(EiP): Todd Reed and Kristine Bolhuis. I have a few different references to Todd Reed on this site already.
So, I thought I would give you some additional info about Kristine Bolhuis. I've always been a big fan of architectural style jewelry and her jewelry pieces in the latest EiP remind me quite a bit of this style of jewelry.
Architectural style jewelry is set apart by the way it seems to be constructed like tiny machines or buildings. Checking out the details of this style of jewelry you can image the blueprint that went behind the making of the work. Most architectural style jewelry is very clean in appearance with lines and forms.
Kristine Bouhuis' website shows images of a few of her jewelry and sculptural pieces. Unfortunately, there are no images of her impressive hinged jewelry.
A page at the Velvet Da Vinci website shows an image, top left, of a hinged finger ring. At the bottom right there is also an image of a Todd Reed raw and cut diamond ring.
Velvet Da Vinci also has a very nice page showcasing Todd Reed that is worth checking out.
