Ivanka Trump Launches Jewelry Line

Ivanka Trump announced last month that she is launching her own line of jewelry. Prevalent in the line will be her signature gemstone – the oval-shaped diamond.

I would imagine that if anyone has a keen eye for fashion it would be Ivanka Trump. “I always had an appreciation for fashion and jewelry,” was told to WWD in an interview with Trump a few months back.

Indeed - she learned at the knee of her extremely elegant mother, attending numerous couture fashion shows together as Ivanka was growing up. Money does not always equal taste but I have yet to see a fashion photo of mother or daughter where they are not impeccably turned out.

A very cool design addition to each piece of Ivanka Trump jewelry is a hidden trademark – that of a piece of enamel in coral. Blue enamel and coral make for a stunning color combination and is similar to colors combined by the ancient Egyptians. Lapis Lazuli and carnelian were frequently combined in Egyptian adornment. Trump plans for both an internet presence and a flagship retail location on Madison Avenue in New York.

What about the prices? Well, she’s using diamonds so you know the prices are not exactly going to be deminimis. Projected prices are going to run from $750 to $350,000.

I did see one of her designs. It was a simple necklace with a pendant that reminded me of the tassel on prayer beads. Of course, a very high-end, chic prayer bead tassel. No projected date as yet as to the formal launch of the website or retail shop. I’ll keep you posted.
