Ask any jewelry designer (or any designer for that matter) and they will tell you that the bane of their existence is the knock off. All well known designers are at work on new designs as soon as the current ones hit the stores so as to stay ahead of the curve.

Of course, there has not really been any new twist on the old theme for the last few centuries but all designers have a signature, particular style of constructing the jewelry or use of the gemstones and precious metals that sets them apart and this is what they resent being copied.

Part of the lure of looking at fashion magazines is to check out the styles being worn by our favorite celebrities. I clicked on Kipepeo Likoni and found gold plate and green 'emerald' quartz earrings worn by Paris Hilton. These large chandelier earrings were very cool in appearance with a kind of foreign, what I consider Moroccan, feel about them. Each chandelier earring had 8 quartz briolettes hung in a V shape from the bottom of the gold plated chandelier base.

Ms. Hilton was shown wearing these with a gold halter top dress but they would be appropriate worn with and would really dress up a pair of dark, unfadded jeans and white silk t-shirt.
