Blue Topaz - Gemstone for 2007

I was flipping through the January/February 2007 edition of Colored Stone magazine last night and was not too surprised to see that Blue Topaz has gone from being the 8th most popular colored gemstone in 2004 to number 2 for 2006.

I started working with blue topaz back in 2002 combining it with moonstone for a weight loss ritual bracelet. At that time blue topaz was relatively inexpensive and easy to find. Over the years these two facts have changed - obviously because of the surge in popularity of blue topaz.

Blue sapphire has consistantly come in at number 1 and my favorite blue gemstone aquamarine did not even make the top ten list for 2007.

Neutral colors (black, white and tan) dominated the runways for Spring 2007. Blue topaz can be worn with all three.
