Angelina Jolie Hoop Earrings

A while ago I wrote an article on different types of earrings and I referenced Jolie's love for hoop earrings and the absolutely fabulous 14K gold hoop earrings she was currently wearing. Since then it has been driving me crazy - I know I saved an article I had read about the jewelry artist who made those earrings but I could not find it.

I finally found the article - I had just ripped it out of the magazine - so I am not sure it's origin. Perhaps In Style or Vogue - apparently Angelina Jolie was given by the designer a pair of Lana Jewelry La Bangles 14k gold hoop earrings to wear to the premiere of Mr. and Mrs. Jones. She liked them so much she purchased them for her personal use.

Loaning jewelry to celebrities is a common practice by designers. The amount of exposure received by the designer via electronic and print media is just stunning. Unfortunately there are some celebrities out there that perhaps are not as eager to return or buy the jewelry as Ms. Jolie. Recent jewelry trade magazines that I have read indicate that more and more designers are having celebrities sign statements attesting to the fact that the celebrity realizes that the use of the jewelry is just that - a loan.
