Just to let you know, I have absolutely no experience with video games. I only know I have a hard time getting my 13 year old away from them. So I had zero expectations when it came to exercising with Wii Fit. I had read everything from, "It's a great workout," to "There's not enough strength or cardio training." In my experience, over the past three days, I have used muscles I didn't know existed, and got a heart-pumping workout by moving my hips to an imaginary hula hoop. And I have to say, it's been fun and challenging.
My husband Mark also got on board, so we are now competing as to who is the better sun saluter in yoga, and which one of us is a meaner step artist. My success runs the gamut. Sometimes the screen dubs me a "body builder!!" And other times I'm relegated to "couch potato" status. All I know is that I have terrible balance, but I'm a "calorie roaster" when it comes to free-stepping.
Today I worked out for 60 minutes with Wii. I was too exhausted to even walk on the treadmill. And my body mass index went from 23.02 three days ago, to 22.08 today. The screen tells me that fluctuation could have to do with the fact that I took my first "body test" in the evening and the one today was in the morning. Anyway, I am energized and ready to start losing weight!
Sometimes on Sunday mornings I buy donuts for the guys, But today, I did not have one myself! Now that is will power! Yet, it's only day three.
