This morning I was determined to get through "advanced step" on Wii Fit without making any mistakes. It seems if you don't step on the platform exactly right, or your foot hits the side, you get an error.
So, with careful concentration, I made it though with no mistakes! And now I am no longer simply a calorie roaster, I am a calorie torcher! I was dubbed this new title just as I was starting to lose a little motivation. With that monumental acheivement I got through all my other exercises with gusto. I even set a new record doing the plank. Mark, of course, immediately tried to throw me off my throne. I'll find out if he succeeded.
I started working out differently this morning. Instead of going from yoga to strength to cardio, I reversed the order and started with cardio, moved on to strength and finished with yoga. I found doing the step and hula hoop first got my heart pumping and lifted my confidence. So I actually was better balanced for the yoga poses.
It's hard to keep your zest for working out day after day. But I think changing things up, doing different exercises and challenging yourself in new ways really helps. And if I see results when I hit the scale at the end of the week, I'll be even more fired up!
